recommendations.

To mix things up I thought I'd write a post that isn't about food, but instead about one of my other loves, music.

I have quite an extensive collection of music that I listen to, and in my opinion (naturally) I think I have excellent taste. I also like making lists, so, in no particular order, here are some songs/artists that I'm really into at the moment, who I recommend you check out :) I doubt anyone will listen to all of these, but if you do, you're welcome.

KIMYA DAWSON
I absolutely LOVE Kimya Dawson. I fell in love with her music since I got the Juno soundtrack and heard Loose Lips, Tire Swing, etc a few years ago. She does not disappoint with her latest album (possibly her best). She has songs for all occasions: making smoothies, going to the library and finding seven hungry tigers in your underwear drawer.
Personal Faves: Driving, driving, driving, Same Shit/Complicated

REGINA SPEKTOR
I'm sure all of you know her, but I wanted to include her on this list anyway, because I could listen to her all day.
Personal Faves: Eet, Laughing With

I HEART HIROSHIMA
I got their album recently, and really like their style of music. It's addictive stuff.
Personal Faves: Punks, Crook'd, Surgery
I don't really know what's going on in this video but here it is.

TOKYO POLICE CLUB
Pretty sure I first heard about them on the Gilmore Girls (90% sure they are a band that Lane, etc like, they may have talked about going to their show or something?...unless I'm just making this up)
Personal Faves: Frankenstein, Favourite Food

THE YOUNG VEINS
The other half of Panic at the Disco (Ryan Ross and John Walker) with a few other guys. They have a pretty Beatles-y sound (kinda like PATD second album Pretty Odd but more Beatles) So naturally I love them.
Personal Faves: Defiance, Maybe I will, Maybe I won't

THE NAKED AND FAMOUS
Personal Faves: All of This, Punching in a Dream
This video is good.

THAO WITH THE GET DOWN STAY DOWN
Rare to come across a band with a Vietnamese frontwoman, but this is def a good one. She has a great voice and the whole album is great. In the video the actual music starts about half way through, the first half is Thao and Dianna Agron talking about the video and Oxfam.
Personal Faves: Know Better Learn Faster, Body

LIKE A VERSION
Got the triple j Like a Version 6 and 7 and there are some REALLY good covers on here. Some that stand out are 'Pumped Up Kicks' - Owl Eyes, 'Girls just want to have fun' - Busby Marou, 'Hey Ya!' - Sarah Blasko, 'Say it Right' - Angus and Julia Stone, 'Dance the Way I feel' - Gossling.

There are heaps more that I could add to this list; Little Dragon, Belle and Sebastian, Laura Imbruglia, Lykke Li, The Grates, etc, etc. but I'm getting lazy now. Hope you've found something you like. (and hope the links work!)
