my last week of freedom (well that sounds depressing).

So, uni recommences tomorrow. I'm actually quite legit sad about this. I know I like my course, and it'll be ok, I'm just not looking forward to all the stress that is sure to ensue.

Pretty behind on blogging this week, and I expect the frequency to decline as the semester progresses.

MONDAY
Work. Don't think anything else notable happened that day.

TUESDAY
I had my fellow musketeers over for movies and a vegetarian lunch. We watch Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants (I know right, how embarassing), naturally we always try to determine which character would best correspond to each of us. I ended up as Tibby (which I'm not at all offended by, her storyline is one of the more interesting ones) though I think I have a reasonable dash of Carmen in me. I think Big M always relates herself to Lena. Classic Big M. Though I think Junaberry is quite Lena-like too, though obv she's got that Bridget thing going on with her bodaciousness/long blonde hair and whatnot. We also watched Anastacia (LOVE that film) the animation is brilliant and it brings me back to my childhood. I also feel like a total BOSS being able to apply my knowledge of the Russian Revolution to the context of the movie. Then (against Junaberry's wishes) we watched Matilda (another childhood favourite of mine) - CAKE SCENE FTW!

We made guacamole (and when I say we, I mean Big M and Junaberry, as I made a salad while they did that), I also cooked some vegetarian satay skewers purchased from the local asian grocery store. I enjoyed them thoroughly, and their lack-of-meat-ness didn't seem to offend either of my carnivorous pals.

Naturally I took a photo:
Half eaten bowl of salad with plate of vegetarian skewers (which were a lot less oily than they appear from the paper towel)
It was a nice day, though my hostessing skills are probably lacking, but it's just Big M and Junaberry so it ain't no thang.

WEDNESDAY
Op-shopping with Junaberry. Got a $4 blouse from Anglicare. I may post a photo when it comes back from the wash. It was quite feminine - pale/pastel/pinkish, so hopefully I'll wear it. I liked the form/cut though...thought it was different to what I already have AND it was only $4 so if I don't like it, I'll just redonate it. It was TOKITO (I think) not that that name really means anything to me. Junaberry likes to call it Chockito (sp?) which is a tasty chocolate bar, thus I approve.

THURSDAY
Soft-serve run with Junaberry (getting sick of this kid's company by now)
I observed two ladies with empty sundae cups on their table. One of said ladies proceeded to have a 50c softserve cone. I was impressed. Felt moderately sick after the softserve - no way I could have stomached a sundae. Surprisingly I did not take a photo of said soft serves (WHO AM I???). We also observed two high school, caucasian girls walk out with cones considerably fuller than ours. We were not impressed. IT'S LIKE THE CANTEEN CHOCOLATE MUFFIN INCIDENT ALL OVER AGAIN!!! lol jks.

FRIDAY
O'DAY
Went to uni early to help out with the RRAN/Save the Children stalls. Did RRAN from about 9:30-12 then did SCA for the rest of the day. Pretty pumped about SCA - got heaps of contact details of interested folk - so even if only 20% get involved, we'll still have decent numbers :) Had quite a good day. Met more people from SCA they were nice.

SATURDAY
So disorganised scurrying to finish my dear friend, Pinkham's birthday stuff. Celebrated with a dinner at a new local eating establishment.

One vegetarian burger on the menu. (Mediterranean Vegie Burger) I had low expectations given that I'm not really keen on egg, but it was actually really nice. It was also ridiculously filling and pretty difficult to eat in a semi-civil way.

Side profile:

It was mushrooms, roasted peppers, tomatoes and spinach in an egg parcel.
So anyway, I hope Pinkham enjoyed her night, because she is a beautiful person and friend, who deserves all the happiness she gets.

TODAY
Well, today was... interesting.
Accompanied my friend YY to a Buddhist Vegetarian Food Eating Gathering (food gatherings are my favourite kind of gatherings)
Sampled some interesting vegetarian goodies (different to what I'm used to). Some were really nice, others I wasn't too keen on. I ate HEAPS though. (force fed by those around me)

I have more to say about this and some photos to post, but I'm lazy and New Girl's on soon.
