Having exhausted the standard recreational activities available in this exciting city (shopping/eating out/movies) Stan invited me over for movies and food today (sounds like the usual but this is at a lesser financial cost - and also permitted the resident to wear pajama pants/home-clothes). So we made vegetarian pizzas, watched Pride and Prejudice, did some fb stalking, and (as I'm sure I'll never hear the end of) we played some UNO, which contrary to the usual she actually had quite a bit of success in.
The pizzas we made (for ourselves and Aunty Mimi) were (obviously) expertly prepared...although the sweet potato could have been softer...
Waiting in anticipation as our pizzas cook...
Out of the oven and onto the plate...
YUM.
Stan's
Mine
They were pretty impressive...I should have provided photographic evidence, but in 'architecture speak' the north/east/south/west elevations were quite considerable. Pizzas comprised of: lebanese bread, pizza sauce (bought not homemade, cos that's how we roll), mushrooms, tomato, corn, chickpeas, sweet potato, spinach, cheese, Aunty Mimi's thingos and I added a few walnuts to garnish mine. First time I've made pizza in ages, considering I'm generally not keen on it (not a big cheese fan, unlike my sister) but the abundance of vegies made me feel a bit better about it. Also became quite obvious how OCD/anal I am about things....like spreading the toppings out almost symmetrically/evenly on the pizza base. Stanley noted that I would be the worst fast food/hospitality worker, boasting her efficent (yet less organised) sprinkling of toppings. Afterwards I was so stuffed though. Regardless we later consumed cookies and cream ice cream (who could say no to that? Not me, obviously).
We enjoyed our lunch whilst watching the Pride and Prejudice movie (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0414387/).
I found it hilarious that upon hearing what we were watching, Aunty Mimi practically scoffed and said something akin to "again?! Stanley, you watch that movie all the time". That said, I was unsurprised by S's obsessive viewing. (it's in her nature to do things like that). I quite enjoyed it, was a bit lost at the beginning because far too much of my attention was directed to my food, but once I finished I got quite into it (would gladly rewatch it). Enjoyed the landscape and costumes and thought the ending was really nice. Since I haven't read the book, half the time I was like "DO WE LIKE MR DARCY???" and then I learned he was quite a decent chap and answered myself with a resounding 'YES'. I liked Lizzie, Darcy and Papa, however the mother was quite spazzy and restrained by gender roles, etc and the younger sisters were a bit annoying at times (made me feel bad for old potato-liking guy, who after being rejected by Lizzie was laughed at by the sisters). Also felt bad for poor MARY. Someone needs to cut that gal some slack.
Also enjoyed hearing snippets of Aunty Mimi's phone conversation about dim sum, etc. and the noises of Stan and I digesting our pizza/ice cream.
But overall, good movie, good company, good day.
OH... Except for the trauma I was subject to not long after my arrival, namely the viewing of a 1D youtube video. I feel ashamed for not leaving her home immediately, but with lunch on the horizon I was convinced to stay. I do, however, wish I had got a photo of Stanley wearing her funky blue patterned pj pants.

(the fact that you felt the need to specify 'with laughter' suggests to me that there are other conditions under which you often piss yourself)
